Choosing and purchasing the right light bulb, is great way to save and conserve energy. One type light bulb is the Halogen bulb, which consists of the use of halogen gas and filament to generate the light. By its efficiency and great amount of white light, the halogen can shoot light to a specific direction that work wonders for recessed or track fixtures. Halogen bulb has a great life time, the purchase price is expensive. While halogen bulbs continue to be developed they will be able to work more efficiently in the future.

Another type of light bulb will be the Incandescent, passing electricity through a filament it creates great amount of light without hurting a person's eye. Since Incandescent lighting has been used for many years, people are familiar with the amount of light and color it produces. This bulbs use lots of energy because of the heat they generate, the Incandescent bulb has a short life time.

The compact fluorescent is an efficient source of light at great price. Offering a great amount of life time the compact fluorescent provides great lighting, colors and great choice of colors. Since the bulb uses an amount of mercury, the bulb provides a strange color of light and is not able to dim. Getting rid of it is another task, since the bulb contains mercury it cannot be thrown in the garbage disposal.

Light-Emitting Diode or LED is not a light bulb, but a chip. This type of lighting consists of energy going through the chip creating a glow. While the chips are compact together this amount of glow creates light. This bulbs are safe to dispose in your garbage and don't transmit any amount of ultraviolet light. While being expensive, LED lights still has much to evolve for improvement.

Choosing the right bulb for your house, business, or office is a great way to conserve energy, help the environment and make your place a little more warming.
